Authors Sharon Knudson and Mary Fran Heitzman know how lost and alone a woman can feel after experiencing the devastation of death or divorce. They interviewed 23 women and wrote their stories, asking each one for advice tips they might give to someone in their situation. Each woman also included a favorite recipe.
Starting From Scratch When You’re Single Again is a ministry tool intended to encourage women who find themselves single again. The divorce rate is now nearly 58%, with 46% of baby boomers having already experienced a divorce. Of women who are 55 or older, 35% are already widows, and because women live longer than their husbands, the average length of widowhood is 15 years. It’s not a very big stretch for us to say, “Someone you know needs this book.”

Sharon speaks at women’s retreats, support groups, and staff training events to provide encouragement, biblical principles, and practical advice for overcoming trials as well as reaching out to those who are presently walking through tragedy.
